Steve Liberati, Owner and Trainer

Steve Liberati is the founder of Steve's Club (an athletic fitness club in Camden, NJ serving young athletes) and a Level I certified CrossFit Trainer (as well CF Endurance/Running and CF Olympic Lifting certified). Steve is a very passionate trainer/coach who loves helping others (you!) develop their bodies into the efficient, functional machines they were designed to be. With over 5 years of experience working with athletes and individuals in various settings, Steve has seen and tried many different exercise regimens. None of which compare to CrossFit for developing cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility together. A devoted CrossFitter himself, he loves the group camadarie, variety in the workouts, and the awesome results that comes with CrossFit. Steve fully understand the importance of training and what it takes to get to the next level. Steve lives according to the principles of Evolutionary Fitness and has been doing so for the last 3 years. As far as nutrition goes, he follows a paleo diet (in Zone proportions) and fasts at random throughout the week. Steve strongly believes we can intelligently address most health and fitness issues by adopting a lifestyle that reflects the genetic successes of our ancestors. By exercising regularly and providing our body with the proper fuel in the proper proportions, anyone can achieve the level of fitness they desire.

Erin Davidson, Trainer

Erin is a AAAI/ISMA certified personal trainer who has done time at a globo gym in Philadelphia and finally seen the light in becoming a Crossfit Level I Certified Trainer. She started officially training with the Crossfit pack in December of 2007 and, in addition to training for Crossfit, also trains for a better tennis game than her current 4.5 USTA rating affords her. Erin's favorite part of training is being able to witness clients achieve what they previously thought to be impossible. She firmly believes that elite fitness should be for everyone and because of this particularly enjoys working with and learning from injured and/or extremely inexperienced clients. In her spare time Erin enjoys playing the guitar and piano, sketching anatomy charts, and cooking real food. Check out her workout log here.

CrossFit Certications and applicable Seminars: CrossFit Level 1 Certification, CrossFit Movement and Mobility Seminar, First Aid/CPR Red Cross Certified, AAAI/ISMA Certified Trainer

Justin McGinley, Trainer

Justin is a Level I certified CrossFit Trainer and a CrossFit Basic Barbell certified trainer. Justin started CrossFit in April of 2008 after a conversation with a friend who mentioned a “crazy workout program” his brother followed, consisting of hundreds of Pull-ups and Push-ups, 400m sprints, heavy Deadlifts, etc. That night he visited CrossFit.com for the first time and spent hours reading articles about the philosophy and training of CrossFit and watching sample videos of workouts. The next day he did his first CrossFit workout and has been hooked ever since.

He loves the simplicity and effectiveness of the program. “We take useful movements, heavy weights, sprints, body weight circuits and Olympic lifting, constantly vary the weights, the reps, the length of workouts, and the movements, and we do them as hard as we can.” He feels the best way to improve someone’s overall fitness is to practice their weaknesses, and encourages clients to “make their weaknesses their strengths.”

Warren DeLos Angeles, Trainer

Warren is a "triathlete" turned CrossFitter who has been training with the Tribe since September 2008. After 5 years of triathlons and other endurance races, Warren thought he would try CrossFit as a supplement to his traditional endurance and "chronic cardio" training methods. Less than one year later he has ditched those methods completely and has immersed himself into learning as much about how evolutionary fitness principles and CrossFit can still help him achieve the same endurance goals AND much, much more!

In that one year, not only has Warren increased his aerobic capacity, which still allows him to race in endurance events, but he has developed more functional strength, stamina, flexibility, and is hampered by less injuries (e.g., knee & back). In addition, he has adapted the Primal Blueprint lifestyle and learned the importance of nutrition by following a paleo diet. Warren recently attended the CrossFit mobility/flexibility seminar and will receive his CrossFit Level I certification in January. In his spare time, Warren enjoys playing basketball, designing shirts for the Tribe, hiking, and anything that gets him outdoors.

Patrick Byrnes, Trainer

Pat Byrnes is an amateur Mixed Martial Artist who specializes in Muay Thai Kickboxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He one day aspires to climb the ranks of Mixed Martial Arts and become a professional fighter. After participating in his first crossfit workout, Fight Gone Bad, in September 2008 he did not return to Crossfit until that November. He returned with hopes that training at the Tribe would supplement more strength and conditioning into his fight training. He now feels that his strength and conditioning have not only improved but also his diet and lifestyle due to a strict paleo diet.

Although it took him a few months to return to the tribe, once he did, he never looked back. After 6 months of training, Pat, alongside Steve Liberati competed in the 2008 Crossfit Northeast Qualifiers in Albany, NY. They would be the only tribe members to compete, motivating several others who came in support to train hard and return in 2009. Pat does intend to return this year to the Crossfit Regionals and hopefully earn a spot to compete once again in the 2009 Qualifiers with grander dreams of Aromas, CA.

Pat will be receiving his Level I Crossfit Certification Oct. 17th & 18th 2009. Whether or not he has influenced members up to this point, he hopes to help motivate each and every member of the Tribe and push them for better things in the future.

Alyson Terranova, Trainer

After growing up playing soccer and other team sports, the inevitable happened: Alyson graduated college, had no one to work out with, and stopped working out. After trying a wide variety of 'cardio' workouts, and never being kept interested for more than 2-3 weeks, she finally listened to her friends who own a CrossFit affiliate and looked up her local CrossFit. Over a year later, she is doing things she never imagined she could do.

CrossFit has helped her change her outlook on working out as well as eating (she follows the Paleo diet) and she wants to help others reach their potential. She has seen first hand the way CrossFit can change lives and believes that a little encouragement goes a long way. She likes the community aspect of CrossFit and finds it refreshing how encouraging everyone is. Alyson recently attended the CrossFit Mobility/Flexibility Seminar and will be attending her Level 1 Cert in October.

Alyson happens to be one of our own who went through the most incredible transformation within less than a year due to a steel-headed discipline and a mighty heart. You can view Alyson's before and after pictures here.

Michael DeLuca, Trainer

Michael has been crossfitting for a little over a year and stumbled upon crossfit while researching various strength and conditioning programs. Like a lot of people out there, Michael suffers from what he calls exercise ADD and believes crossfit gives him just enough variety to stay focused and committed. Michael is a former college athlete and believes the camaraderie and competition is what makes the program a success. Michael does not believe crossfit is a one size fits all strength and conditioning program and views crossfit as a foundational tool that should be tweaked to get the most out of their clients. Michael is attending the Level 1 Crossfit Certification Seminar on October 18, 2009.
